Listing your home to sell so that you can move into the NEW home you’ve always wanted?

Posted: August 17, 2017

So, you’re going to list your home with a real estate professional because you’ve selected the NEW home of your dreams. Here’s how to ready your home for a quick sale.

First, make all necessary repairs and thoroughly clean the house from top to bottom (this includes baseboards, paddle fans and other areas of the home which may not be cleaned on a regular basis). Make sure that the landscaping is trimmed and add color with flowers if possible.

Declutter! Hiding items in closets, cabinets and drawers is not the best option. Potential home buyers will most certainly open closet doors and cabinets to view these areas and it is not ideal to have them appear to be cluttered and chaotic. Box extra items and neatly stack them in the garage or basement or better yet, move them to an off-site location. Focus on the kitchen and bathrooms! Make sure the towels are neatly folded and are clean.

Make sure that all lights work (and are "on" in preparation for any showings). These few steps will have your home in "show ready" condition in no time.
